DR. DICK WEBSTER

GIBM Executive Director

Dr. Dick Webster and his wife Karen were married on December 19, 1970. They were saved on January 14, 1973 at the Diamond Oaks Baptist Church in Haltom City, Texas. Six months later Bro. Webster was called to preach. He entered Baptist Bible College in September 1974 and graduated in May 1977. Bro Webster and his family then moved to Goshen, Indiana where he started the Goshen Baptist Temple. After five years, God called Bro Webster to be a missionary to Argentina. He and his family served there for 2 ½ years.

Because of health reasons, God called Bro Webster to become the Pastor of Liberty Baptist Church in Lewisville ,Texas in 1984 where he served faithfully for 34 ½ years. Bro Webster has also served as the Moderator for the Global Independent Baptist Fellowship and is currently the full-time Director of the Global Independent Baptist Missions.

PASTOR ROY WEBSTER

GIBM Executive Assistant Director

Roy Webster was saved at the age of eight, after seeing a Christian film.  When he was 11 years old, his parents, Dick and Karen Webster, followed God’s call to serve as missionaries in Argentina.  After a short time they returned to the U.S. for health reasons, but God later used that experience in Roy’s life, calling him to return to Argentina as a missionary. After graduating from Temple Christian School in Lewisville, he went to Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri.  Bro. Webster graduated with a Missions Degree and married his wife, Jennifer, in 1993. He served as Youth Pastor and Missions Intern, from 1995, under Dr. Eddy Johnson at Grayson Bible Baptist Church in Sherman, Texas, until his approval as a Baptist Bible Fellowship International Missionary in 1999.

After eighteen months of deputation, the Websters went to Argentina as BBFI Missionaries, arriving in the capital, Buenos Aires, on December 28, 2000.  They served on the field for nearly eleven years, during which time Bro. Webster preached in many Youth and Family Conferences and Camps, as well as teaching in, and collaborating with several different Baptist Bible Seminaries.  Primarily, the Websters planted one church, which they were able to leave in the hands of a national pastor. La Iglesia Bautista de Monte Grande continues to grow, going strong since 2004.

In 2010, God began working on Bro. Webster’s heart about returning to Grayson Bible Baptist Church in Sherman, Texas.  Dr. Eddy Johnson, the church’s pastor of 20 years was looking for someone to succeed him upon his retirement. After months of prayerful deliberation, the Websters decided to follow God’s call in reverse.  They left Argentina and resigned as missionaries in November of 2011.   After serving as Associate Pastor for a one-year transition period, Bro. Webster became the pastor of GBBC upon Dr. Johnson’s retirement, Sunday, January 6, 2013.  It is his fervent prayer that God will continue to use him in Missions, in any capacity, and to further the Gospel around the world through the local church.
